I started practicing yoga in 2007 when I got pregnant because someone told me that yoga would help with childbirth. I don't think it did, but luckily two amazing things came out of pregnancy-- my daughter and my love of yoga.
I am from Atlanta and I started my practice there at various gyms and studios. When I moved to Milwaukee in December of 2011 I knew I wanted to retire (at the ripe old age of 34) from teaching high school English and finally become a group fitness instructor and a yoga teacher. I was so fortunate to meet Shayna Broadwell, owner of Core Essence Yoga, who I did my teacher training with.
Since finishing my training, I have been teaching at Core Essence, the Wauwatosa YMCA, Orange Shoe in Whitefish Bay and You Go Yoga in Elm Grove. I am now so excited to be a part of Yama Yoga!
I am so fortunate to be part of the Milwaukee yoga community. I learn every day and with every class I either take or teach. The move to Milwaukee has been so great for my family and being able to pursue my dream of teaching yoga has made the transition to Milwaukee even more amazing. This is a fantastic city to be in and I am really excited to share my passion with everyone who comes to my class.
